	&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;  About meAnna Hulth, born 1988 and based in Gothenburg, SwedenThere is a recurring desire for me to get closer to the unknown. To get closer to the things I can not see but fills my chest with concern. That feeling that is so difficult to control and to understand. That feeling that scares me.


My work is based on analog photography, where I patiently try to approach a narrative of emotions. By transferring my photographs to a tactile material, I can allow myself to get even closer to an eerier state of mind. I use layers, add and erase them, physical layers of charcoal, fragile flowers and hair. The layers create a distance, a space that thus opens up a narrow path into the unknown.
My curiosity to explore new ways of telling has led me into using different materials. I work with textil
es,
 ceramics and film. All to get close to a narrativethat is lurking within me. Closer to the unknown.

	The layers of time rises to the surface, it seeps out through the wallpaper, the secrets creep closer. As secluded whisperings the stories between the lines slowly appears.
The Whispers of the Walls is a portrayal of timethat has left secrets behind for centuries. 	The body has fallen asleep, your consciousness is on its way from you, the dream begins to take over your reality, your present and within you a sense of peace assumes yourself. Suddenly everything is pulled away from you, you have to gasp to breathe and you fall, fall into the unreal, into what is not there, into nothingness.
Falling Within is a project that explores the spiritual parallel world where the dream appears as a window. 	Linking past, present and future

	In the exhibition at the Västerås Art Museum, pieces from my project Linking past, present and future are displayed. Based on the textile, I have tried to create an emotional narrative with aesthetics/inspiration from the Victorian era and their mourning rituals. “The study of death and bereavement in the past helps us to understand the present, especially in the context of the modern tendency to avoid the subject of death and to minimize the public expression of grief”*. The exhibition is rooted in photography's unique ability to frame time and together with spiritistic spirituality a world is created. A world that moves between past, present and future. My desire with my work is to give space to the grief, the narrative around it and with that hopefully create comfort. I have wanted to depict what is not seen but felt, what scares me, what I call an emotional narrative.&#38;nbsp;

	Fever Dream

	
In the textile material there is fabric of a past time, secrets that slowly disappear into oblivion. The thread is scratched up, mended and worn out. I grope in the dark, my body is wet from the fever, the fabric clings to my spine. Everything goes in cycles. Like a heartfelt journey that needs to be recreated.
